This too shall pass

As the ancient Persian fable goes, a powerful king challenged his sages to give him something that would make him happy when he is sad. The wise men deliberated and produced a ring with the inscription, “this too shall pass”.

This famous proverb is most commonly used when people are going through tough times.

However, the fable notes that the inscription also made the King sad when he was happy.

But the message real here is not about happiness and sadness.

It is about the impermanence of life.

So be mindful. Be present in the moment.

When times are tough, be present. Accept the fact that challenges comes for all of us. Overcoming these difficulties is what builds our resiliency and grit.

When times are good, be present. Enjoy the company of your loved ones, friends and family. Allow yourself to savor the experience.
