Double down

I just watched a YouTube video by Noah Kagan (founder of AppSumo) where he broke down his 2019 one million dollar income. It was 90/10 heavily weighted from his core business.

The real message of the video wasn’t actually about his income. He was using it as an example to point to tips for success.

First, this journey (life, career, business) is about you, the viewer. He wants all of us to make a change today to better our own futures.

Second, it takes a long time to make money. So you need to pick something that you’ll enjoy doing for at least the next 10 years. We all spend a significant portion of our time and lives working. It only makes sense that we should be doing something we enjoy.

Third, invest in what’s working. This is something I’ve been struggling with because we’ve been conditioned to work on our weaknesses to be more “well rounded” and “balanced”. However, I’ve been reading and hearing more and more from successful people that its more important to focus on your strengths. Noah’s message was no different.

Identify your strengths, and double down.
