Ow. My back. Ow.

Last night I pulled my lower back while putting a 30lb bag into the car after work. Immediately I knew this was bad so I rummaged first an Aleve even though I didn’t have any water to take with it.

It got really bad when I tried to sleep. There was no position I could get into without excruciating pain. I ended up only sleeping maybe 20-30 minutes when I tried a face down semi-child’s pose where a pile of blankets was supporting my chest. Unfortunately I could really breathe so it wasn’t a sustainable position.

This morning I used some ice to help with the pain relief. And finally this afternoon I was able to get a few hours of sleep by sitting upright on the couch.

This experience is making me really appreciate how healthy I am in general. I felt grateful that normally I could sleep so well. I kept telling myself that this is temporary and that soon, I’ll be well again soon.

I also know that some people don’t have this comfort or knowledge and they’re getting by.

Please take care of your health.
