The other day my mom told me the story of the mother with two sons.
One son was a fan maker and the other, an umbrella maker.
When the weather was fair and hot, the mother was happy for the fan maker, yet worried about the umbrella maker.
When the weather was gloomy and rainy, the mother was happy for the umbrella maker but worried about the fan maker.
This story was told to me because while my mom was happy at my ambitions in life, as a mother, it’s in her nature to worry about the risks.
Keep this in mind when you get advice (solicited or otherwise) from your own mother.
