The Rotisserie Effect On Your Writing

You know the smell. When you’re walking through the supermarket and the intoxicating scent wafts into your nose. Your stomach grumbles even when you’re not hungry.

It’s not all that economic for the store to be selling these birds at only $5 a pop. But the smell creates an emotional response from us shoppers. We like the smell and we get hungry. When we’re happy and hungry, we buy more stuff. Stuff that we normally wouldn’t impulse buy on a full belly.

Does your writing have the rotisserie effect? Are you making your readers hungry for more of what you have to say? If not, get cooking!
