The recent news about NTF’s had me researching into the possibilities it brought to the future of artists and musicians. And one day, I woke up thinking about creating my own NFT’s on Electronic Dance Music (EDM). There was a problem though, I don’t know how to make EDM. Nor do I listen to it normally.
So I started my research into all the different types of EDM and boy are there a LOT of them. House, Drum and Bass, Dubstep, Hardstyle – just to name a few. I decided the style I liked best was Electroswing, which has sounds of the 20’s big band. It uses strings, horn, and piano in an uptempo form coupled with the thumping drums of EDM.
Then I saw something else on YouTube. I stumbled upon an Italian YouTube bass player Davie504.

Now, the last time I played my bass was more than 2 years ago. My two basses have been in storage at my brother’s house since the apartment I share with my wife is pretty small. But after watching a bunch (25+?) of Davie504’s videos, my fingers are twitching. Twitching to get my SLAPP on.
So what does this all mean? Well, since I’m entering a transitionary period of my life, it’s great to have my passion for music reignited. But I do need to keep my focus on my main goals. As the quote goes, keep your main thing, your main thing.
But I’m still happy to get that groove feeling back and you can be damn sure I’ll be listening to more bass and electroswing this week (and weeks to come).
