Change The Recipe, A Little At A Time

Tonight, I took a break from my evening cookie soup (GASP, Blasphemy!). Instead I went for a strawberry smoothie.

My usual recipe is frozen strawberries, half of an avocado, whole milk, and a bit of bourbon barrel aged maple syrup.

Sometimes when there’s no avocados, I substitute half of a banana for a similar thick creaminess. Other times, I put in the whole avocado for a SUPER thick smoothie.

But today, I had avocados but decided to pass on it and just left the smoothie without it. It wasn’t as thick but it was still good. The frozen strawberries gave it an extra icy texture while the fruit’s flavors made for a refreshing beverage.

It’s a good idea to mix things up regularly.
