After watching 10 Things I Hate About You last week, I wanted more Heath Ledger. So today I put on The Dark Knight. What a great movie.
During the interrogation scene, at the police station, the Joker tells Batman that he’s changed the rules of the game. The game had previously been cops versus criminals. And in the world of Gotham, pre-Batman, the criminals are clearly winning the “game”.
But along came Batman, and he broke the rules. He took on organized crime by force by being a vigilante.
Next enter the Joker. He’s the anti-Batman. He also doesn’t play by the rules, not even the ones the Dark Knight sets.
We are used to living in a world where we’re used to the same rules day in and day out.
